Stye™ Sterile Lubricant Eye Ointment
Not all styes need an antibiotic stye medication. In fact, most eye styes go away on their own. But you can reduce the irritation you feel from stye symptoms–from the #1 brand in stye symptom relief.
Our eye stye ointment relieves symptoms such as:
- Burning
- Stinging
- Itching
The soothing formula provides symptomatic stye relief and lubrication to help prevent further irritation of the eye.
Like other stye creams and ointments, non-prescription drug products cannot treat the infection associated with a stye. If the stye becomes worse or does not heal on its own after a week or two, call your doctor or other healthcare professional for treatment.
As part of a Stye Regimen, you can use:
- Stye Cleansing Eye Wipes to gently clean debris from your eyelids
- Stye Eye Ointment to soothe stye symptoms and prevent further irritation
- Stye Warming Eye Compress for soothing and effective relief
-
Uses
- Temporarily relieves burning and irritation of the eye
- Used as a lubricant to prevent further irritation of the eye

How to Use
Directions:
- Wash and dry your hands first.
- Pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket for ointment (even if the stye is on the upper eyelid).
- Gently squeeze the tube until a line of ointment about ¼ inch long comes out.
- Twist the tube to help the ointment fall into the eyelid pocket without touching the tube to the eye.
- Close your eyes for about one minute, moving your eyes in different directions to help move the ointment to the upper and lower eyelids.
- After one minute, open your eyes and use a clean tissue to wipe any excess ointment off the skin around your eye.

FAQs
How often can you apply eye ointment each day?
Use as needed to help relieve irritation. How do I apply ointment to a stye that’s on my upper eyelid?
Follow the package directions on applying the stye ointment into the pocket you create by pulling down your lower eyelid. Then close your eye and, while keeping your eyelid closed, move your eye as if you’re looking in different directions. The ointment will spread across your eye to your upper eyelid. How do I get the ointment in my eye without touching it?
Squeeze the ointment down inside your lower eyelid and when you have enough (1/4 inch) out, turn the tube and start to pull away. As you turn the tube, the ointment should disconnect and drop into place. It may be easier to do this in front of a mirror. If my stye is not getting better, when should I call my doctor?
If your stye is getting worse or is not healing after a week or two, call your doctor or other healthcare professional for treatment. Can I use more than one Stye™ product to help relieve stye symptoms?
Yes! For example, you can use Stye™ eye wipes to clean your eyes and then add stye ointment or eye drops. A few times a day, you can also use the warming compress to soothe irritation and unblock lubricating oil glands for a quick refresh
